Natural shopping – what products should we avoid?

One of the XXI century curses is shopaholism, related to the need to own more and more and accumulate unnecessary items. It is related to increasing amounts of waste that we swamp our planet with. Here are some tips that will make your shopping less harmful for the Earth.

Avoid pre-packaged products – it especially concerns meat and vegetables on trays, products in foil and plastic bags. Plastic decomposes for ages and at the same time it takes a lot of space in your waste bin.

Do not buy liquids in plastic bottles – especially mineral water in small bottles. It is a better solution to drink tap water (in the majority of the regions in Poland, it is much healthier than mineral water) or to buy the biggest water bottles (5 liters) and then transfer it to smaller bottles.

Exotic products which come from other regions of the World require a lot of energy supplies and liters of fuel to transport them to Poland. At the same time, by choosing these products you expose yourself to a higher risk of allergies or food intolerance. Discover regional tastes!

Electronics and gadgets – the production of electronic devices destroys natural environment, as rare metals are needed for their production. Their production is also related to labor force exploitation. At the same time, every year we throw away billions of functional devices, only because the marketing keeps telling us that they no longer fulfill their functions. Say no to annual replacement of your smartphone for the most recent model!
