The Purist: 25 Minimalist Tech Accessories
By Kate Pruitt (from Design Sponge) on October 26, 2010
It's clearly fall now, and I've got crisp air, wool blankets, and cut
logs on my mind. This time of year, when shopping for furniture and home
accessories I often gravitate towards objects that use natural
materials. The neutral colors and varied textures read instant chic to
me, not to mention the fact that they feel good in your hands and look
great in your home. There's no reason this natural minimalism can't
extend to electronics, especially since many tech companies are rapidly
embracing minimalist design in their products as well. Today I've
rounded up 25 of the most beautiful electronics and tech accessories
that utilize natural materials such as wood, leather, wool felt, and
canvas. These designs blend high tech performance with a purist
aesthetic, and will look incredibly stylish in your home, at the office,
or on the road. These are also great gift ideas for any tech lover with
a nature streak, or vice-versa. The craftsmanship and quality of the
materials provide a touch of organic luxury, and there's no better time
to wrap your beloved laptop or ipad in wool and leather than when the
leaves begin to fall. I know there's many more great products out there
that I haven't seen yet--what's your favorite design combination of
nature and technology? -Kate
