Gadget Case Roundup: Keep Your Gear Safe
By Margaret Mason (from Mighty Girl) on March 25, 2010
We have a drawer at our house with a collection of slightly broken things -- a fully functional iPhone with a shattered screen, a point and shoot that sometimes deletes entire memory cards on a whim, etcetera. Looking in the drawer, it occurs to me that the convenience of throwing gadgets in my bag is perhaps outweighed by the cost of replacing them when they bang into each other and break. But cases offer the best of both worlds -- relatively free-floating gadgets that still work when you turn them on. Here are five stylish options to protect your gadgets without adding too much bulk to your bag.
Shootsac Basic Black Shooters Kit, $149
You used to just hang your camera around your neck, until you clocked your $600 lens against the car door.
Herringbone iPad Case, $30
Have after-work drinks without looking like you're no fun.
Kindle Case, $140
The last time you covered your books, you were in high school. This time, you'll need something slightly more substantial than a paper bag.
Piel Frama Palm Pre Case, $119
Is there ever really enough red leather in your life?
iPhone Case, $98
Buttery, handmade cases from artist Anna Sutton will have everyone asking "Where'd you get that?" And isn't that the desired effect of every purchase we make?
It is.

Digital Camera Case, $25
Prettier and more effective than the cotton slipcase that came with your camera.
