10 Stocking Stuffers for Traveling Technophiles
By Jean Aw (from NOTCOT) on December 11, 2009
It's that time of year... shopaholics ravaging stores and typing furiously to find the perfect gifts to add to their carts. Maybe it's just me, but I swear it's so much harder to find fun and unexpected surprises this year than years past! BUT, that being said, here are a few new tried and true favorites that have popped up recently. The 10 below are particularly good for those jetsetters and technophiles on your list if you're looking for fun stocking stuffers they will probably use and LOVE!
1. The Gorilla Torch!
See NOTCOT review here for more pics and info. I LOVE this little SUPER bright, adjustable light with the magnetic bendy legs. It's come in useful everywhere from acting as a flashlight running out at night to fishing trips to acting as the perfect light in my electrical closet ~ it is SO much brighter than those big round plastic press on/off lights could ever be in there, and its directional and moveable!
2. Cinemin Swivel
I just picked up a Cinemin the other day, and while I didn't know exactly what I'd use it for, I can barely imagine what I'd do without it. Suddenly I can plug in my iphone, browse you tube, and watch the videos anywhere from on the ceiling, to huge on the wall behind the pool table, to the full wall in front of the elliptical, outside in the patio, or even on the floor as I wander around. The possibilities are endless! And it is so tiny... not that much larger than the iphone itself!
3. Iamakey
I still can't believe that the IamaKey goes up to 32GB now! Who couldn't use one of these on their keychain?
4. Nau Scarf
It's getting chilly out there. Love this puffy down scarf... see the NOTCOT Nau Down Scarf review for more pics and info. One of my favorite parts of this one is the pockets, and since its so puffy your tech and cash/cards are nicely stashable and barely noticeable.
5. Free Hands - Cashmere
More on goodies for these chillier times, Freehands Cashmere. Yes! They are now in cashmere! And the thumbs and forefingers have little pull backs so your tips can be exposed when needed... whether that is for touch screens on your phone or pulling out your amex.
6. Hard Graft U Kindle Case
Just because ereaders often come with cases, doesn't mean that's a good reason to keep it in them. My favorite for the kindle is the Hard Graft U Kindle Case... it even has a pocket for your iphone to join in! Instant grab and go bundle!
7. AIAIAI Headphones
These AIAIAI Headphones also come in phone friendly models with microphones! And they have the best packaging that is a clear plastic tube which really makes for great gifting and fun unboxing.
8. Incase Chrome Slider Case for iPhone
Your iPhone owner can glam it up a little with the Incase Chrome Slider Case. Sleek, understated, and packs just enough *oomph* to grab some attention.
9. Flexicords
I'm obsessed with these. My travel bag doesn't get packed without them. You can see more pics and info at the NOTCOT Flexicords Review. These are bendy cables that will hold their shape! Suddenly your USB cable can do more than just link things up. Whether you use it as a phone stand/charging dock or a card holder, my favorite feature is that it can't get tangled! (Well, not without some effort on your part anyhow!)
10. Mimobots!
The Star Wars Series 1 Stormtrooper MIMOBOT is back! And no stocking is complete with out one of these really fun little guys. Total conversation starter in any meeting... and on any plane!
