I love Super Bowl Sunday. This is my Easter – my Christmas. I think every American should get the day after the Super Bowl off as a paid holiday. I really do. Now, I am in it for the football, but really, if if you don’t care one bit about the game you know you are going to be tuned in anyway. Why? The commercials of course.
Companies pay obscene amounts of money to advertise during the Super Bowl and because of it these corporations bring out their A game. Every year many companies release their newest ad campaign during the big game and we reap the benefits.
In honor of the most wonderful day of the year, I present you with Goon Squad Sarah’s Favorite Super Bowl Commercials Ever.
Let’s begin back in 2003, back when I still worked in an office. Oh, how I wished Terry Tate worked with me.
(2003) Reebok – Terry Tate, Office Linebacker
That one just makes me laugh, but I don’t want to leave out the sweeter ones.
This next one is a classic.
(1980) Coke – Mean Joe Greene
(1999) Monster.com – When I Grow Up
Still funny.
This next one isn’t funny, but it is a classic.
(1984) Apple – 1984
I should make sure I represent Budweiser here. While these two ads have both totally been played out they were funny as hell the first time we saw them.
Here is my favorite from last 2010.
(2010) Snickers – Betty White
But my very favorite Super Bowl commercial of all time is from back in 1993.
(1993) McDonalds – Showdown, Bird vs. Jordan
Which Super Bowl commercial is your favorite and why?
