You don’t have to be a trained professional to appreciate the creativity behind the design of modern architecture. These days, we can all marvel at the impressive buildings sprouting up all around us thanks to a number of different websites that focus either on architecture exclusively or on architecture, design and interiors. Today, we’ve listed out some of the best architecture sites currently on the web, the ones that will introduce you to projects that seem so out of this world, it’s hard to believe that someone could have actually conjured them up. May these amazing projects inspire you as you head down your own creative path.
1. ArchDaily

Started in March 2008 by David Assael and David Basulto, ArchDaily has quickly grown to become one of the most visited architecture focused websites on the web. Not only is this a place where industry insiders find the latest architectural news, it’s also where quite anyone can come to learn about the latest projects popping up in major cities all around the world. ArchDaily is constantly updated and also quite thorough, they’re known for both their in-depth coverage and for being on top of growing design trends.
Tip: Passionate about architecture and want to learn more? Check out their Books & Magazines section to find some ArchDaily approved reads! If you’re on Tumblr, you can also follow ArchDaily here.
2. Architizer
Unlike ArchDaily, which follows a blog format, Architizer is an open social network and blog where anyone interested in architecture – architects, photographers, educators and more – can post about their project (though editors carefully choose which projects get featured). Architizer was created so that architects could show their work to their clients and give credit to those that contributed. If you’re more interested in reading the latest architectural news, click the News tab up top to get taken to their consistently updated blog. There you’ll find everything from future plans for Apple’s new campus to radical redesigns of fast food restaurants.
Tip: If you’re looking for some home design inspiration, check out Architizer’s Houses or Interiors tabs up top to see a wide array of interesting ideas.
3. Dezeen

At the intersection of architecture and design you’ll find Dezeen, a highly influential online magazine that showcases the best architecture, design and interior projects from all around the world. Started in November 2006, Dezeen is known as being on the forefront of design. With over 2 million visits a month, this site is one you’ll want to bookmark if you want to keep on top of the latest news and trends in the design world. With clear descriptions and crisp photos, you’ll find it easy to scroll through their posts which are always up-to-date and easy to read.
Tip: If you enjoy Dezeen, check out their new book called Dezeen Book of Ideas which contains 116 examples of “design genius” or concepts and products chosen by the Dezeen team. It’s sure to open your eyes to fresh and new ideas.
